Senior Member : Feb 2007 : 173 | My thoughts on Aftermath I went out yesterday and bought UFO Aftermath for only $10 and I have been doing some 'research' since. By using accelerated game play(cheats), I have come to the conclusions that it is a very impressive game. Likes: -RPG elements in squads -Ease of use in BattleScape -Looks much better than the original UFO series -Interesting storyline -Realtimeish Battlescape Dislikes: -Bases cannot be assigned individual research/development projects -Only one squad can be deployed at a time -Only one type of attack craft -Lack of variety in aliens -Bases are a defined type, cannot be hybrid(e.g. a researching military base) |

But I've just tried UFO Afterlight recently (it is avaiable as 10-ingame-days beta for free), and I assure you, it has a lot of nice improvements http://www.ufo-afterlight.com/pages/download.html what I liked most is that it looks better and requires less resourses than first 2 parts, thus making some good gameplay. And the fact that you can not recruit fighters any more (at least for the first story chapter) gives some spice to the game. __________________ |
